Editing boxes

Move, resize, rotate, draw, copy, sync and undo.

Every box is one photo that will be exported. Editing a box never changes your original file.

On the canvas

  • Click a box to select it; drag inside to move it.
  • Corner handles resize; hold Shift to keep the aspect ratio. Edge handles move one side.
  • The round handle above the box rotates it around its centre. It snaps to level within about 1.5° and to 90° within about 4.5°; hold Alt for free rotation.
  • The number on a box is its reading order and its number in the file name.
  • Drag on empty space to draw a new box. On a phone, use Add crop.
  • 4-point tool (button or C): click the four corners of a skewed photo; the fourth click creates a rotated box fitted through them. Backspace removes the last corner, Esc leaves the tool. It fits a rotated rectangle — it does not correct perspective.
  • Right-click a box for: preview full resolution, duplicate, copy, rotate left/right, sync across scans, delete.

In the crop list

Each crop shows a live thumbnail of the straightened result, its size, and controls to set a custom file name, a date taken, fine-tune the tilt (±0.5°, or 0° to level it), rotate 90°, duplicate, sync or delete.

Copy, paste and layouts

  • Ctrl/⌘+C and Ctrl/⌘+V copy a box; pasting into another scan scales it to that image. Pasting into the same scan offsets it slightly. D duplicates.
  • Layout → Copy this layout to all scans repeats the current scan's boxes on every other scan (scaled to each).
  • Layout → Sync this layout across all scans does the same but keeps the boxes linked: move, resize or rotate one and it changes on every scan. You can also sync a single box from its menu.
  • Templates save the current layout in this browser; apply one to the current scan or to all scans.

Batch resize

−2% / +2% shrinks or grows boxes by 2%: only the open scan in single view, every scan in the grid view.
