Scanned several photos at once? AI Auto Cropper separates every photo on the page into its own image file, named and numbered for you.

Download them one by one or all together in a ZIP. Works best when the photos sit on a plain background with a small gap between them.

  • Leave a small gap between photos so each one is found.
  • Dark or light pages both work if they are even in tone.
  • Export a whole batch in one ZIP — every file from every page together.
  • Missed one? Add a box by hand before exporting.

Five photos on a black page, five files.

Each detected photo becomes a numbered JPG named after your scan.

Photo splitter

What does a photo splitter do?

A photo splitter takes one image that contains several pictures — a scanned album page, a contact sheet, a flatbed scan of loose prints — and turns it into separate image files, one per picture.

AI Auto Cropper does this by detecting the photo rectangles that stand out from the page background. The result is a set of numbered JPGs you can rename, sort into folders, or upload to a photo library. If you’re working with whole albums, the album page cropper explains how to handle sleeves and captions.

Your scans are processed locally in the browser and never uploaded to our server.

Use cases

When you need to split a scan

Any time several pictures share one image file.

Album pages

Split each scanned page into the individual prints mounted on it.

Batch flatbed scans

Fill the glass, scan once, and split the sheet into separate photos.

Old scans you already have

Re-split combined scans made years ago instead of scanning again.

Why split

Why split instead of re-scanning?

Scanning photos one at a time is the slowest way to digitize a collection. Scanning several at once and splitting the result afterwards cuts scanner time dramatically — and with automatic detection the splitting step takes seconds per page.

  • Fewer passes on the scanner
  • Numbered files ready to sort
  • Works on scans you already made

You stay in control

Detection is a starting point, not a black box. Before you export you can:

  • Move, resize or rotate any box (with undo)
  • Draw a box the detector missed, or use the 4-point tool
  • Copy a layout or template to a whole batch

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I split multiple photos from one scan?
Upload the scan above. The tool detects each photo and lets you download them as separate JPGs or a single ZIP.
How many photos can be on one scan?
There is no fixed limit. Pages with two to eight prints are typical; very small prints need enough resolution and a visible gap to be separated.
How are the split files named?
Files use your scan’s name plus a number, for example page-12_1.jpg and page-12_2.jpg, so the order stays clear.
Can I split several scans at once?
Yes. Select or drop many files at once (or a whole folder). Each scan is processed in order, you can edit earlier scans while later ones are still detecting, and one export gives you every photo in a ZIP.
Is the ZIP download free?
Yes. ZIP export is included free during the preview.
